How does Smyrna Library help local authors?

Answer

Congratulations on the publication of your book. It is difficult to market and sell a book with so much competition; we applaud your efforts and wish you good luck in your endeavors.

Smyrna Library does not host book signings, book launch parties, story times, nor other promotional events for authors. We recommend you contact local book stores such as Bookmiser, the Book Exchange, Book Nook, the Book Worm, Little Shop of Stories, or Barnes & Noble. Bookstores often partner with authors on promotional events.

We also recommend attending local chapter meetings of professional author societies. These groups provide regular workshops on marketing, selling, and networking.

If you would like to donate a copy of your book to Smyrna Public Library, thank you! Please leave a copy of your book at the front desk on the first floor with a note to the attention of the Library Director. If we are able to catalog the book, we will add it to the collection. Otherwise, we will use the book as a reading incentive prize.

If you would like us to consider your book for purchase, feel free to email the Library Director at mwmoore [at] smyrnaga [dot] gov. Please include the publication and press information related to your book.
