Can you recommend something for my child to read?
Answer
For Youth Services staff, recommending books is the favorite part about their job. Youth Services Librarian, Rebecca Power was an elementary school teacher before she was a librarian and has a vast knowledge of children’s literature. Whether you need help with a struggling reader, a specific learning goal, or are just looking for the next great read, she and her staff are happy to help. There are several ways to receive suggestions:
Ask a Youth Services staff member in person. If you are visiting Smyrna Library, stop by the Youth Services desk on the first floor of the library. (Please remember to wear your mask when visiting the library.)
Complete an online request form. When filling out this short form, please include a description of your child's reading preferences, goals and/or challenges. The Youth Services staff will email you suggestions.
